Review of Runman 69 FILM THREAT April 1992
In a style similar to that of Michael Moore (Roger& Me), Hawaii
-based documentarist Runman uses satire and hidden-camera techniques
to both reveal and preserve the cruel humor of life itself. But, in
this case, the life is that of those sun-worshipping riders of the storm:
surfers. RUNMAN 69 is an entertaining slice of life for those who dream
of living on the beach with just your board and the waves to sustain
you, or anyone else who loved the 100% adrenaline of POINT BREAK......ah,
just kidding. Perhaps the ideal way to watch this film would be to loop
it and then leave it running continuously from June to August (or even
longer) to remind you of what you have been missing during those cold
winter months.
